The original dwelling on the site was a 1960s cream brick infill adjacent several Victorian era dwellings.

Adjacent the site is public land with soft landscaping including trees and shrubs.  This allowed for a design with a hard urban edge which addressed the public space directly.

Living areas are located at first floor to take advantage of views towards the city through the tree canopies.
